1pm-6pm approx (UK time) meeting in central London

Team up, decide on a strategy, and plot a route around London to maximise your points! This is a great opportunity to see the city while mingling with (and competing against!) colleagues old and new ...

Race Around London is an orienteering treasure hunt, in which teams compete to collect as many points as possible within the time allowed.

When: Saturday 26^th Sept 2026 (afternoon).

Where: Central London.

What: this is a timed treasure-hunt challenge inspired by the show Race Across the World.

Who: it’s open to all of Filmbase members and Art Department crew from across the industry, so it’ll be a fun, informal way to meet new faces.

Why: we’re raising money for The 15 Mile Fund, which aims to ensure that no one misses out on a career opportunity, like a job interview, because they can’t afford to get to it. The fund is open to all senior and junior members of Filmbase. It aims to subsidise train tickets, bus fares, petrol and even local accommodation.

What’s in it for me: bragging rights, a cheap trophy (maybe!)… and new contacts who won’t easily forget you!

Come alone or bring family – we’ll figure out teams on the day. And don’t worry about being fit enough: you’ll be walking and using public transport, so no athletic prowess is needed.

Entry fee: raise or donate at least £30 per person (which goes directly into the fund).
