FILMBASE SESSIONS

Job Share and Flexible Working

with

Camise Oldfield

Lead Graphic Designer

Hosted by Filmbase and The Graphics Union

and sponsored by The Classic Prop Hire Company.

Thursday 27th April

13:15 - 13:45 (BST) via Zoom

Job Share and flexible working is now very much a thing in the Art, Set Dec and Props departments! But how do you get on that road? We'll be talking to Camise Oldfield, Graphic Designer and also chair of the Graphics Union, about how to make it happen for you. Graphic Designers were one of the first roles to fully embrace job share and show that it can work for the department and the individual. Since then, a vast array of roles of have successfully job shared, from Petty Cash Buyer, to Production Designer!

Camise has negotiated a range of flexible working set ups for herself, and also coached other crew members in order to help them do the same. We'll be talking about the fundamentals of what job share or flexible working can look like, what to consider when deciding if it's for you, and how to approach employers with your plan in mind.

It's a quick 30 minute lunchtime session but we try to pack as much in as possible. Sign up for this session by clicking the link below. Don't forget to submit a question if there's anything specific you like us to answer.

The webinar is FREE for Filmbase and Graphics Union members, and £10 for non members. If you'd like to become a Filmbase member, click here

The Graphics Union has been set up to provide support and a discussion forum for freelance graphic designers working within the UK film and television industry. This session is in collaboration with the Graphics Union.
