News: Productions on pause - The Writers' StrikeThe Writers Guild of America called a strike on the 2nd May 2023 and are asking their members to not work on any projects throughout the strike. This means that script changes on any American produced productions will be problematic at this time. The American studios and streamers are therefore likely to put on hold any projects that do not have locked off scripts. We will add updates on your department forum pages. We are excited to partner with The Classic Prop Hire Company, one of the leading prop hire groups for the UK film and TV industry. Classic have an incredible range of props, from the medieval era to the 1980s. Classic also incorporates Seasons Textiles , Classic Modern, Number Eight and Classic Set Dec Shop. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for Filmbase to continue to improve our services, and we couldn't be more excited to work alongside Classic Prop Hire Company to make this happen. BECTU is the trade union that fights for fair working conditions and professional standards for everyone in the in the UK film and TV industry, including the Art, Set Dec and Props Departments. Whilst Filmbase focuses on getting our members jobs, and helping employers find crew, BECTU's aim is to protect workers when they are on those jobs.
