Our next Filmbase session is with Dressing Props Chargehand Nick Akass.
Nick’s credits date back 16 years and include Star Wars Episode IX, 1917 and Avengers: Doomsday.
We’ll be asking him about Prop Dressing for different budget bands, what the job involves on a daily basis and how the department works, including how crewing up is done in Props.
This session is also for crew interested in moving departments - Nick started his career in the Art Department and he will be talking about his experience of moving between Art Dept and Props.
Nick’s work has included low-budget and micro-budget productions - we’ll be finding out what low-budget means as crew on the ground and what you gain from it.
He is also Chair of the Bectu Props Committee and does much behind-the-scenes work to support rates and other issues affecting the department.
